How We Got Here: Measurement

The Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy is partnering with the best and brightest minds to leverage the latest data, current and emerging technologies, and inventive thinking and practices. With science as a foundation, the Innovation Center is utilizing life cycle assessment (LCA) research, field-based research and process-based modeling to establish a baseline and measure progress.

Metrics and reporting credibility

The Innovation Center is actively reporting the industry's environmental, social and economic stewardship as a way to share our sustainability initiatives, establish benchmarks, track progress, showcase best practices and respond to inquiries from consumers.

Individual dairy businesses and cooperatives can use the data to calculate, benchmark and communicate their own environmental impacts and improvements effectively.
