Beth Engelmann serves as chief operating officer for Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), which manages the national dairy checkoff to drive sales and build trust on behalf of nearly 34,000 U.S. dairy farmers.
Engelmann is charged with leading the implementation and annual planning of the unified marketing plan. In her role, she is charged with providing strategic guidance to modernize the programs and partnerships, along with establish systems and process to maximize the organizational performance and efficiency in order to continue to protect and grow dairy in an increasingly complex environment.
Her leadership is driven by a unique culmination of more than 20 years of business strategy, marketing and communications experience with food, health, wellness, retail and QSR companies. Before joining DMI, Engelmann was the general manager for the brand team at the Chicago headquarters of Edelman, the world’s largest global communications firm. In this role, she worked with a wide range of corporate, food and industry clients on reputation, social responsibility, and sales strategies. While at Edelman, she played a key role in launching Fuel Up to Play 60, the nation’s largest in-school wellness program, created by the National Dairy Council and the NFL, in partnership with U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Engelmann earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As a mother of three, she demonstrates a strong personal commitment to child health and wellness and is actively involved in her family’s school and community. She serves on the Lurie Children’s Hospital Medical Board and as vice chair of the Hospital Marketing Committee.
