For generations, farm families have brought the goodness of dairy products to America’s tables. They are joined in this endeavor by processors, retailers and others in the dairy value chain. Each day, the dairy products you pull off the shelf and out of the dairy case not only provide nine essential nutrients for good health, but also contribute jobs, income and vitality to hundreds of communities. In fact, dairy’s overall impact to the U.S. economy is more than $100 billion, including hundreds of thousands of jobs.
Now all these people — from farm to fridge — are working together, to give consumers more of what they want, when and where they want it.
Today, dairy farmers, cooperatives and companies, along with government and non-government organizations, financial institutions, associations, brands and academia, are working together pre-competitively to foster innovation. The Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy provides a forum for everyone in dairy to better deliver nutritious dairy foods, beverages and ingredients for the health of people, communities and the earth.
Established in 2008, the Innovation Center is the first organization of its kind to align the collective resources of the industry around its barriers and opportunities, so that we can offer consumers the dairy products and ingredients they need for a healthy and productive lifestyle. Already the Innovation Center has engaged nearly 400 people and their resources to meet that goal.
