Selection Criteria

 

 

Applications will be evaluated in these specific areas:

 

1. Results: Specific and measurable results against sustainability objectives; these could address, for example:

  • Environmental: for example, Water Conservation and Quality; Materials; Greenhouse Gas Emissions; Waste Management; Energy Management
  • Economic: for example, Profitability; Productivity; Impact on Local Economy
  • Social: for example, Food Safety and Quality; Employee Working Conditions; Community Relations and Activities; Health and Nutrition

 

2. Learning, innovation and improvement; for example:

  • Building or improving on an existing practice for a better outcome
  • Sharing lessons learned with others

 

3. Potential for adoption by other dairy farms or businesses; for example:

  • Relevance to other dairy operations
  • Scalability
  • Plans to support the successful continuation/expansion of the practice(s)
  • Sharing best practices with others
