U.S. Dairy Sustainability Commitment
Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy
Working together for a healthy planet

For generations, the people who have brought fresh, delicious milk and other wholesome dairy foods to America’s tables have also cared for the land and contributed to strong local communities and family businesses.

That same legacy is the foundation for what we are calling the U.S. Dairy Sustainability Commitment.  All those involved in U.S. dairy -- from the local farmer to the neighborhood grocer -- are uniting to foster environmental responsibility while continuing to provide nutritious dairy products, support our communities, and strengthen our economic viability. We're joined by leading environmental, academic, and scientific organizations from across the country and around the world.

Our first goal: Reduce greenhouse gas emissions for fluid milk by 25 percent by the year 2020.

The next phase involves an initiative to find and act on more ways to help conserve and protect our nation’s water supply.

On this site, you’ll find out how U.S. dairy plans to reach our ambitious goals through the adoption of innovations and best management practices, all grounded in sound science and research.

U.S. Dairy and its partners have made a commitment. Won't you join us?
