Experts from academic, government and nongovernment organizations join professionals from the U.S. dairy value chain to measure, improve and communicate dairy’s role in a sustainable food system. We define sustainability as providing consumers with nutritious dairy products they want, in a way that makes the industry, people and the earth economically, environmentally and socially better — now and for future generations.
Experts in agriculture, life cycle research, sustainability and animal science comprise the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy® sustainability team and work with members of the dairy industry to advance dairy sustainability through science, tools, tracking and reporting.
The following infographics have been developed to help visually describe the dairy community's commitment to sustainability and stewardship.
Six guiding principles endorsed by the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy® Sustainability Alliance and the Innovation Center support the development and continuation of the U.S. Dairy Sustainability Commitment. The principles highlight our support for a sustainable food system that promotes the current and future health and well-being of our cows, our consumers, our communities, our employees, our resources and our planet.
