Terri Verason, MS, RD 

Terri Verason is a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) and the Director of Nutrition Education for Dairy Council(r) of Arizona where she is responsible for updating doctors, dietitians, dentists, nurses and other health professionals in Arizona on current nutrition issues related to their field as well as providing nutrition education for consumers.  She does this through involvement in community nutrition projects, media presentations, distribution of nutrition educational materials, sponsoring speakers for medical and health conferences and lecturing.  She works with local food banks to help get milk onto their shelves to distribute to the community and has developed many nutrition education materials for the public.

Terri has been involved in the Arizona Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AZ-AND) in many ways, including Media Representative, Public Relations Chairman, Webmaster, various committee appointments and she served as AZ-AND's President in 2009-2010. National leadership roles include the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Positions Committee and she currently serves as Arizona's delegate to the national Academy's House of Delegates.  Because of her contributions to the association and to the nutrition field, Terri received AZ-AND's Emerging Leader Award in 1998 and the Outstanding Dietitian Award in 2011.

Not only has Terri has spoken to numerous professional and consumer groups on nutrition, osteoporosis, weight control, fad diets, eating on the run and a variety of other topics, she's also a regular contributor to KPNX Ch 12's Arizona Midday program.   

In her spare time, Terri enjoys teaching the next generation of nutrition professionals through nutrition and communications classes at Arizona State University, Chandler Gilbert Community College and Central Arizona College.

Terri earned her Bachelor of Science degree in clinical nutrition from Arizona State University and her Master of Science degree in nutrition, also from ASU.
