Students Step Up to Help Communities

People of all ages who choose to volunteer do so for different reasons. For some it offers a chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills and build new relationships. Regardless of why they volunteer, most find it a rewarding experience.

In honor of National Volunteer Week (April 11-15), we are proud to recognize the Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassadors who are finding ways to give back to their communities. You can read their inspiring stories via the slideshow below. 

Cat in Vermont helps her community by helping with her local Summer Feeding programs. Read more here. 

Abby in New Hampshire signed up to volunteer with the Special Olympics after making a difference in her class. Read her story here.  

Wisdom helped families in his community by volunteering for a food drive, which helped provide families with healthy food for the summer. Read more here. 

Krysten from Illinois helped organize a parade for veterans in their community, and she and the service club have other projects planned for the future!
