Say goodbye to double dippers with these 7 Layer Taco Dip Cups! Served in individual portions, our seven-layer dip is a fun and flavorful appetizer, perfect for your next party, tailgate or game day. And with two recipe variations, ground beef or refried beans, these snack-sized cups are crowd pleasers for vegetarians and meat lovers alike.

 

Ingredients

Ground Beef:

1 pound lean ground beef

2 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Refried Beans:

1 16-ounce can refried beans

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

 

Dip:

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

1 cup guacamole

1 cup chunky salsa or pico de gallo

1 cup shredded Mexican cheese

¼ cup black olives

2 Roma tomatoes, diced

2-3 green onions, sliced

2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

  • Tortilla chips for serving
  • 8, 6- to 8-ounce mason jars

 

Instructions

To Make Ground Beef:

  1. Brown both sides of ground beef in a pan. Drain fat if needed. Break up ground beef with a wooden spoon and season with chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, Kosher salt and black pepper. Cook until no longer pink. Set aside to cool.

 

To Make Beans:

  1. In a bowl mix together refried beans, chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, Kosher salt and black pepper.

 

Dip:

  1. Combine the sour cream and cream cheese in a separate bowl.
  2. Add a heaping spoonful of ground beef or beans to the bottom of your individual cups.
  3. Add a spoonful of the sour cream mixture on top of the ground beef/beans, followed by a heaping spoonful of guacamole, then salsa.
  4. Add a layer of cheese and top with a layer of tomatoes and black olives. Garnish with cilantro and green onions.

 

Cook’s Tips

  • Recipe can also be made in a 9x13-inch dish
  • If you love ground beef and refried beans, combine the two together to make the first layer
  • Mix some fresh lime juice with your guacamole to help prevent it from browning
