You already know milk provides 13 essential nutrients to nourish kids and adults, and you might be pleased – and surprised – to learn dairy cows have their own nutritionists.

Did you know many cows also wear fitness trackers and that most farms use innovative technology to preserve natural resources with the health of the environment in mind?

Just like you might have questions about the agricultural practices, animal care and stewardship of the land that go into getting foods from farm to table, so do the people we provide nutrition and health guidance to each day.

Virtual Dairy Farm Tour

I have a resource that may help you, as well as your clients and audiences, better connect to the dairy farmers and dairy farming practices: Join me on a virtual dairy farm tour! You can go behind the scenes of a modern dairy farm with this 30-minute virtual “field trip” that follows third-generation dairy farmers, the Feldpausch family from Colorado, as they work with their team of veterinarians, nutritionists and staff to bring communities nutritious and delicious milk and dairy foods. The Feldpausch family is one of about 31,000 dairy farm families across the U.S. who are committed to providing milk in a safe, wholesome and environmentally sound way to help nourish Americans.

This virtual tour will be shown to students across the U.S., through Discovery Education to help connect youth to where their food comes from, because so many will never be near a farm.

After you’ve gone on the virtual dairy farm tour, I’m happy to help answer any questions you may have. Reach out to me on Twitter @JeanRagalieRD.
